So life has come to an end for the King, BB that is. 89 is a good age and his musical legacy will remain. The blues seems to have attracted a number of Kings, Albert and Freddie too. The only BB King vinyl in my collection is from 1968, ‘Blues on Top of Blues’. It’s a nice enough album with occasional guitar soloing, but a little too arranged at times for me, think brass section etc !
However, I do have a copy of BB and EC’s ‘Riding With The King’ on CD, from 2000, which is a real favourite of mine. The brass section is dispensed with and you can just tell by listening to the music that a good time was had by all. Heartily recommended.
